The Importance of Summer Reading
Often referred to as the “summer slide,” reading setbacks over summer vacation are easily avoided. Join our Summer Reading program this year and help your kids (and yourself!) develop summer reading habits that can combat summer learning loss and provide a foundation for academic success.
What Are the Rules For the Summer Reading Program?
If you have a child who is still being read to by an adult, fill out this form to register. After that, please click here to download the form your little one can color in. If you cannot print one out, call the library and we can have one ready for you to pick up. When it's completed, bring it into the library and Miss Kate will give you a small prize.
For everyone else we have a brief Google form for you to complete for every book you read. You earn one raffle ticket per book. There is no limit to how many raffle tickets you can enter per week. The first Google form you fill out automatically wins you a scoop of ice cream from The Big Scoop at Long Hill!
Each raffle ticket is entered into that week's raffle and into the drawing for the end of summer grand prize. Click here to log your first book!
What Are the Weekly Prizes/Grand Prizes?
Each week we'll be raffling off three, $10 gift cards to local businesses (one gift card per age group).
Our Grand Prizes include a scooter for Children, a digital projector for Teens, and a $100 gift card to Jabberwocky Bookshop for Adults.
Which days are the drawings being held?
Every Monday we will pick a new winner!
We are very grateful to The Friends of the West Newbury Library for donating all of our prizes and providing funding for our Library programs.
